Cheryl J. Placsko
I am a Registered Psychologist with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist. I have completed EMDRIA basic EMDR training as well as Attachment Focused-EMDR (AF-EMDR) training with the Parnell Institute. I am an AF-EMDR Approved Consultant with the Parnell Institute and an EMDRIA Consultant in Training. I work with individuals dealing with a wide variety of issues and concerns. I believe that despite challenges and difficulty, with understanding and the right coping strategies, feeling strong and capable is something we can all achieve. Stressors and intense emotions can be overwhelming and have us feeling out of control, helpless, frustrated and scared. I work with clients to help them understand how to relax their body and release patterns of thought and behaviour that reinforce avoidance and relief seeking and get in the way of them achieving their goals. I believe in supporting psychologists entering the practice and provide supervision to provisional psychologists registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. As an AF-EMDR Consultant, and an EMDRIA Consultant in Training - I provide consultation to EMDR therapists looking for support in developing their EMDR skills and case conceptualization to support treatment of their clients. |
